Your crew, one tap away.

Friends in Bar Crawl Golf are built on handles, not contact lists. Claim yours in the app, send a request, and the people you play with stay one tap away from the next crawl.

  1. Claim your handle

Sign in in the app and claim a handle: the name your crew knows you by on the board, the final card, and every invite. Only your handle and the display name you choose are ever shown to other players. Your email, your phone number, and your account id never leave the database.

  2. Send a request by handle

Type a friend's handle and send the request. They accept and you are friends: one tap to pull them into the next crawl instead of spelling a code across a loud bar. One pending request per pair, and a declined request rests seven days before it can be sent again, so nobody gets worn down by repeats.

  3. Your crew stays yours

Friends are for the people you actually play with, capped and unhurried by design. There is no public feed, no follower count, and nothing to perform for. And if a night goes wrong, blocking is final and quiet: it ends the friendship in both directions, no announcement, no appeal banner.

  4. Playing tonight? Skip the setup.

Friends make the next night faster, but tonight needs nothing new. Your host starts the crawl in the app and shares its 6-character code; you enter the code, add your name, and you are on the scorecard, right here in the browser.

Join a crawl with a code

Hosting instead? The host playbook walks the five steps, and the app on the App Store is where handles are claimed.

Friends, answered

  1. Do I need an account to be someone's friend?

Yes. Friend requests travel between signed-in accounts in the app, so both players need an account and a claimed handle. Playing a crawl needs no account at all: the host shares the crawl code and anyone can join from the browser with the code and a name.

  2. What can other players see about me?

Your handle and the display name you choose. Nothing else: no email address, no phone number, and no account id is ever shown to another player.

  3. What happens when I block someone?

Blocking works both ways. It removes the friendship and every request between you, and from then on your handle answers the same as a handle that does not exist, so a blocked player cannot tell the difference.
